Oh, dear, that is so sad. Snack cakes for an under-2-year-old? *Sigh*
"Developing" will power is about practicing it. You MUST tell yourself "I do not need that snack cake. Sugar turns to fat the instant it hits my stomach. I don't want to wear that snack cake on my hips." Never mind that most of them contain high-fructose corn syrup (cancer cells' favorite fuel!) AND hydrogenated oils, which clog your arteries right up...
If you keep trying to convince your brain that the rush of sugar that it expects and wants is NOT healthy and that you can get the same pleasure without the guilt from other sources, it WILL learn.
Make sure you have something healthy and sweet to substitute... fruit, a small bar of dark chocolate, or yogurt with honey or something.

I live with a roommate and her 17 month old daughter. The mother stocks cookies and snack cakes for her daughter in the kitchen that we share. I'm having a hard time not giving into temptation to these goodies. Of course, I ask first and she always says yes. What can I do for now until I develop more will power to say no to these sugar cravings?
