Using the break in weather to straighten out the lane where the guy who scraped it clear moved the gravel in several places. Glad I've been strength training

Hey Carla...my name is Meta. I travel as a motivational speaker/singer and even though I love jazz/blues/classical...gospel music is my calling. don't give up the song. I admire your devotion to your son. You won't regret it. I was a single parent and it was worth every minute. Would you ever open a salon in your home? Part time? That's a very special skill to bring beauty to another person and provide that kind of intimate care. I'm impressed.
Nice to meet you! Keep Sharing and keep Sparkin'!!

Good Morning :-)

Hmmm...Maybe Christmas music was a favorite of the departed. You never know. I had to sing at my mother-in-laws funeral. Tears in Heaven & The Way We Were. I've sung a lot in my day. Weddings, funerals, and in musicals (local).
I don't work currently. A few years ago my sons father was in an accident and a few weeks later passed away. I receive widow benefits. My son who is 12 needed me home more. So I quit my full time job a few months ago and I'm looking for a part time job. I am a hairstylist by trade but in the past few years I did CSR work.
Today is all about cleaning my bedroom and its closet and ridding myself of junk! Then I can get in a holiday mood and decorate!
Its warm here but overcast today. Not very pretty, but I think I will take a walk.
My name is Carla. Take care.

Thanks NUGIRL61...not my loss...just performing. But they wanted Christmas music (odd to me, but blended in the service) and I added a praise chorus in between the speakers. It's supposed to warm up this afternoon sowish I was off today...will be singing at both worship services this morning and it's 5 hours of being up and moving with focus...so this afternoon I'll nap.

A little over 2/3's of the lily mulching done. Got the center garden mulched and most of the nearby leaf blowing done. I can't help but wonder if raking them would have gone faster. But I did what I could. When we get a break from the incoming winter freeze I'll go back out.

Sadly, this year, I had a little more produce than I could handle and now find myself pitching some of it out.
Gooseberries, which are healthy for you, blackcurrants and lots of green tomatoes (many of which are going rotten as they ripen).
I made the mistake of planting tomatoes from the seed store-bought produce...it just didn't grow that well. The tomatoes (Roma) were small and many (most) of them did not have that unique plum tomato shape. I had similar problems with cherry tomatoes planted from those bought in the store. From now on I will be buying the seed--or better yet the plants--early in the season from plant retailers.

Lots of yard work tommorrow as Tuesday is yard waste collection day. But I do add leaves and clippings to my compost heap as well as to cover some of my herbs growing in the garden (don't use leaves for this as they will blow away). I used the dead heads of my hydrangea to cover my herbs. Be careful not to throw away any tree or shrub bows that may have the egg cases of the Preying Mantis--although not listed as beneficial insects they do help to rid the garden of some pests.

great year for tomatos and eggplants. I have raised beds in the backyard southern exposure. I fried enough eggplant for many many dished of eggplant parmasean. Probably not on the spark plan right now but so far lost 70 pounds since last year. Have to admit i was born in the Garden state of New Jersey my heart goes out for family and friends back there now. But, here in southern californiaa the weather is great for gardening most of the year way into november and december

My garden projects are good workouts too. Moving dirt, rocks, collecting brush and weeding. This year we had drought so I'm not sure how we will get the lawn back to how it was. The weeds took over. I'm not a big fan of gardening but it loves me. I feel so much more happy and content after puttering about with the plants. Not to mention the exercise minutes racked up!

Well my husband and I are expanding our garden for next year. He start growing ghost peppers this year to sell and it was good so we decided the expand our garden. But of course we had to move alot of rocks that we put in a couple of years ago to cut back on our yard and water. Well it ended up I had to move the rocksby myself. It took me a week. It was a great work ut but I'm glad I'm done
