Don't let the perfect (or your idea of it) get in the way of the possible. Losing 20 pounds in 7 weeks (especially right before your wedding) is a very tall order. But can you be a trimmer, toner you in 7 weeks? Darn straight you can! Just keep up the good work. Whatever the scale does over the next few weeks, you've already made great progress -- and you WILL be beautiful on your big day!

Best of luck with your fitness goals -- but much more importantly, congratulations and best wishes on your wedding!

Now, that being said...Dragonchilde DID say it's possible to lose 7 pounds safely. That's nearly ten pounds. Ten pounds is pretty awesome. If I jumped on the scale tomorrow and it said I weighed ten pounds less, I'd probably throw a party.

If you lose that seven pounds, most likely your dress will fit better.

BUT...remember, your fiance loves you as you are right now. The people who will attend you wedding think you are beautiful exactly how you are right now. IF you try to lose that seven pounds, be sure you are doing it for yourself, and because you want to be healthy...not because you're going to get your picture taken.

You are not going to lose 20 lbs in 7 weeks at your current weight. It's not humanly possible, not without resorting to dangerous methods that are far from healthy. You do not *have* to lose 20 lbs; you want to, but this is not a reasonable nor a safe goal for you.

You are not on a plateau. A plateau is not a few weeks; a plateau is when you're doing everything right, and months pass.

While it's frustrating to not be at some ideal weight for your wedding day, you can only aim to lose about 1-2 lbs, tops. Since you're under 200 lbs now, 2 lbs per week is likely too aggressive. So going with 1 pound a week weight loss (A safe, healthy attempt at your current weight) you can lose a max of about 7 pounds.

Add that to the fact that it can take as much as 6-8 weeks for healthy lifestyle changes to show up on the scale, I think it's time for you to re-evaluate your goals.

We can help you troubleshoot your current program, and see if perhaps there's something holding you back, but you are simply not going to lose 20 lbs in 7 weeks. You're not fat enough!

If you'd like more help, we'll need to more details. How often are you working out, how much are you burning each day, how much are you eating each day, what's your calorie range, etc. If you've been tracking, sharing your nutrition and fitness trackers publicly can help us troubleshoot your program:

So here's my mini rant I've been working out and eating healthy as well as low carb since January 2nd. I've gone from 205 pounds to 187 pounds. and for the last few days the scale hasn't moved. I know an actual plateau is a few weeks but I only have 7 more weeks until my wedding day and I have to shed 20 more pounds. Any advice, or workout routines that anyone has tried that worked in a short amount of time?
