If you have a juicer, just run the bananas through frozen. They come out looking and tasting like ice cream ~ but not the fat or calories!

I make this chocolaty thing with frozen bananas:

But generally I just eat them plain as a snack. I cut the bananas in slices and lay them out on a plate and put in the freezer. When they're frozen, I break them apart and put into containers. Then I can just grab a few as a creamy snack since they never really freeze rock hard.

I also drop the frozen slices into my oatmeal or even cold cereal. They thaw quickly and add a lot of sweetness.

Frozen bananas are great- especially made with peanut butter or chocolate- even alone either by the slice- or mashed to ice cream consistancy.

I like to blend 1 cup skim milk with a frozen banana and a teaspoon of vanilla. Makes a great quick banana smoothie.

How about frozen peanut butter, banana and chocolate dessert?

It was something I made up when I was craving chocolate and peanut butter, but didn't want to kill my day with a Reese's.

1-2 banana mashed and soft frozen (it only takes about 15 min in the freezer.)
1 T peanut butter melted (microwave for 30 seconds)
1 T Chocolate Syrup (I use sugar free Hershey's)

Remove the frozen mashed banana from the freezer, drizzle with warm peanut butter and chocolate and enjoy!

It tastes almost like ice cream, very smooth, and really satisfies!!!

Prep Time: 20 min
Inactive Prep Time: 2 hr 0 min
Cook Time: 10 min
Level: Intermediate
Serves: 8 servings

Ingredients
4 medium ripe but firm bananas
8 wooden craft sticks
3 tablespoons finely chopped lightly salted peanuts
6 ounces good quality dark chocolate (60 to 70 percent cocoa solids), chopped

Directions
Peel, then cut each banana in half crosswise and insert a craft stick into each half. Place on a tray, cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer until frozen, about 3 hours.

Place the peanuts in a shallow dish or on a plate. Melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler over slightly simmering water, over the lowest possible heat, stirring frequently. Make sure the water is not touching the bottom of the top pan. Pour the melted chocolate into a tall glass. Dip each frozen banana into the chocolate, turning it to coat, and immediately roll in the peanuts. Place on a tray covered in waxed paper. Serve immediately or wrap individually in plastic wrap or waxed paper and freeze for up to 2 weeks.

I like using them for smoothies. If the bananas are frozen, you don't need to use ice.

Also, on the rare day that you have tons of calories at the end of the day, it's fun to make a milkshake with them - milk, frozen banana, peanut butter. Around 300 cal, but very delicious.

If you have access to a dehydrator, banana chips are awesome! However, if you are looking for another kind of bread besides banana, I really love zucchini bread.

If you blend them, they go fluffy like an ice cream dessert, no need to add anything to make a pudding!
