I use Udo's Oil which is a 3.6.9 blend made from flax oil. Udo recommends a Tbsp a day for every 50 pounds of bodyweight. So I usually take 2 Tbsp a day though I should take 3 according to his recommendations. He says it supports immune function, digestion, cardiovascular health, mental sharpness, lean body mass and beautiful skin. I add it to smoothies, or use on my salad as a dressing with lemon juice, or mix into yogurt, or into my cereal or porridge or into spaghetti sauce ... it can be added to many things.

I don't use the oil...I use ground flax seed. A muffin of it every morning...lots of fiber.

I take 4 1000mg flaxseed oil capsules daily just for the healthy fat benefits. I don't do it for weightloss, but I DO noticed my cravings for bad food increases on the days I forget the capsules so I think it definitely helps nourish your body.

Thanks Jen,
Weightwatchers recommends 1tspn flaxseed oil a day which is what I plan to take. I like the taste of it.

I think flaxseed can be a great addition to a healthy diet, but would be skeptical of any weight loss claims.

I have read that flaxseed oil can be called the antifat fat because it helps burn up fat by incresing the meatabolism Is this true?
