Hi, I've been thinking. while obesity is a problem in the US and elsewhere, so is hunger. My son and I are on a weight loss journey together and I made a pledge to donate a pound of non-perishable food to our local food bank for every pound we lose. There could be variations like $1 for every pound lost or even 1 item for every pound for those on a fixed income. The challenge is not about outdoing each other, but just seeing how much good we could do. I just found out that our local county food bank feeds an entire NFL Arena of people every month. So far, I owe the food bank 25 pounds of food for the month of September. I don't know how many people that feeds, but at least 25 I expect for at least one meal. I do know that for every dollar donated to at least one organization, that tries to nourish children, $7 worth of food can be provided. Let's see what we can do from October first to December first.Anyone want to join me? I pledge to try and tally our totals befpre Christmas.
