Your body is designed to protect itself from starvation during times of greatly-reduced food availability. So when you eat too little, your body thinks it's starving. To compensate, your metabolism will slow down considerably, making it very difficult (or impossible) for you to lose weight. In this state, your body will preferentially burn everything (muscles) but your stored body fat .Eating too little poses other problems as well, such as nutritional deficiencies.

Please read more about this in this Ask the Expert response.

Also, the tips and food suggestions in this article can help you begin to take steps forward toward meeting your estimated needs on a consistent basis. By applying one or two each day, you may find that you are back on track and in-control of a healthy caloric intake.

Please use the SP tracker or you will make yourself ill.

The tracker will give you the daily calorie amount.

Try it for a week at least and see what happens

Hi there! Prakriti you are eating far too few calories to sustain you. I found out the hard way that I couldn't lose and sometimes gained from eating fewer than 1200 calories a day. I'm glad you are aiming for 3 meals a day!! Even if they are very small meals that will get you into the good habit of eating better!
Barbanna great goals!

Eat breakfast/ lunch, work out daily with cardio, strengthening and stretching with different muscles groups each session, track nutrition and exercise daily, meditate, and last keep my priorities in the proper order!

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

I want my fast break goal #1 to be to eat every day. But its not an option. Thats okay though I know its my goal and has been for over a year. I started small promising myself i would eat at least 3 days a week. then 4.. then I changed my goal to eating 2 meals every day. So far I still fail at all of those But I wont give up. eating 3 meals a day every day is really hard. But the last 2 days i ate 3 meals! and almost 900calories total!! Horray. Today I am so full. But I am still only at 600calories for they say. even after eating 2 meals. Sometimes I think this calories counting is crap. Fruit have so few calories but are so filling. I ate an apple for dinner and planned to make fish too... but I am full from the apple and dont want to eat anymore.
