Depending on what your back issue is, certain exercises need to be avoided. I strongly recommend talking to your doctor and maybe getting a referral to a physical therapist, if you can make it work with your budget and insurance. I did the same, and I'm lucky to have no limitations, but I do have exercises that I can do to keep me out of pain.
