I haven't heard of it, although a friend and I did this once for 19 days....ate a total of 500 calories per day, eating 50 calories every hour or so. (booze for some reason didn't count but that was our decision, LOL) We both lost about 9 lbs...and no, didn't maintain it, although my job was active enough at that time that I didn't gain MORE than that when I went back to eating normally. This was about 6 yrs ago and I remember thinking it was a great way to drop pounds fast if you absolutely had to. I don't know where my friend came up with the idea, and my activity level was pretty high too, so I guess it was a combination of the two....
I was watching Rachael Ray and this doctor was talking about the fast diet and how it's the new rage, you eat somewhat healthy for 5 days a week and then a woman only eats 500 calories for two days and a man 600 for 2 days they say it shocks the system to burn more fat. Is anyone on this or heard of it?
