For the home, your own body is indeed great. Resistance bands are also nice because they are portable and lightweight.
At the gym, I usually use the cardio equipment. And the classes. I love the classes. That's maybe not a piece of equipment but they're a fun way to get in some strength training and I have made some great friends.

like M@L, I love body weight exercises because you can do them ANYWHERE! It's great to have a repertoire of activities so you can keep up with your exercise goals when you are unable to get to a gym or even your home eqpt.
gym eqpt? Gotta be cable crossover...because it has so many uses.
