I think this is genetic. My Dad was up reading until early hours and I have always done the same. My Mom would go to bed at 10 and my sister does that too.

Early bird in the Army (of course) but night owl by temperment or inheiritance. My mom was a night owl, too. I live in a basement apartment with few windows, so there are no clues to which 8:00 it is or which 2:00. When I have no special reasons to get up at any specific time, and just sleep when I'm tired and up when I'm awake, I always find myself awake at night and asleep during the day. I can do that because I'm retired and single.

I am definitely a night owl. I hate waking up in the morning. Ever since I can remember I have always felt more awake at night, and I feel like I sleep so much better in the morning. My mom even told me that I was like that when I was a baby.
