Since I've started pilates it's helped a lot with my back pain (I have multiple herniated discs). I'd recommend it to anyone for pain relief, strength, better posture, more energy, flexibility and stress relief. For calorie burn I stick to cardio and martial arts.
OMG! I do classic Pilates 5 days a week as I work at a Pilates studio. I am hooked and my body has changed so much in the last year since beginning. I am the poster girl for change in the studio. We do rehabilitative Pilates for people with osteo issues, joint pain, you name it and we probably have a client with that issue.
