Start slowly. Explore the tools on this site and find what works for you.
Many people find that starting slowly is good for motivation--Choose a couple specific goals (counting calories, or getting enough water, or exercising a certain number of minutes) and make them solid habits. Then add a couple more.
After you've been around a bit, I'd also encourage you to set up a SparkPage and blog. It's a nice place to give updates and share the ups and downs in your journey. Maybe find one or two SparkTeams that have actively participating members, too.
