Also, strength training doesn't burn all that many calories directly in the same way that cardio does.

The benefits of strength training are more indirect, in helping ensure that more of your weight loss comes from fat alone, rather than a combination of fat and muscle.

The calorie burning effect of ST also comes from boosting your metabolism, rather than burning a lot of calories during your workout.

Don't worry too much about tracking calories from ST.

These are both in the tracker.

Search 'zumba' to enter the zumba. Choose your weight work move, or just search 'strength training' for a generic entry and enter the time spent on that.

The site will calculate calories burned for both.

Be aware that an HRM is not able to give a calorie burn for strength work, only cardio work. The HR is not correlated with burn for anaerobic (without oxygen) work such as strength training.

The most accurate way is to monitor your heart rate. But if you dont have a HRM try typing in the keywords in the search box and see if there are any topics, discussions, links or articles that can help you. Chances are that if you are having trouble figuring it out...another spark member had the same problem and has discussed it on the message boards or one of the spark coaches has written an article about it.

I don't know how to calculate the calories for certain exercises, I do 1 hour of zumba gold dancing ( for seniors ). Also when I do weights, I don't know how to figure the calories so I can track.
