No I haven't checked out that team. Didn't know there was one with that name or those exercises. I am able to walk with tennis shoes or boots and it feels pretty good. I just try not to be on it too long and if it hurts I use ice on it.
Thanks for telling me about that team. I will check it out!

Sorry about your toe! I know that hurts... I broke one on my way onto a flight to CA from NJ years ago!!!! Have you checked out the Chair Exercise team? They have loads of videos & help & they are super-duper nice people. A good alternative to standing exercise! Hope you heal up soon!

In April I will have foot surgery, so will be in the same Boat! Thanks for the info about the Seated exercise program---it will be on my list for sure. I have a few hand weights to help. I will have to do the same again this fall on the second foot---so it will be a year probably before I am fully recovered. But I'm already looking forward to the long term---which hopefully will be many years of pain free walking. Right now anything over about a mile, and one or both feet hurt!

So sorry to hear of your broken toe, but your doctor should be the one who guides you as to what exercises you can and cannot do. Also note that now is not the time to restrict your calories--in fact going into maintenance mode is best as your body needs the calories and nutrients to aid in healing. This is not free rein to eat whatever you want, but you want to focus on eating a balanced healthy diet.
I wish you a SPEEDY recovery!

Do you have access to a pool ? You could try swimming or doing water aerobics. You can also do upper body strength exercises while sitting in a chair. Work your upper body muscles while your toe/foot heals.
Even if you can't engage in your regular routine for a couple of weeks because of your toe, that's NOT the end of the world. As long as you are mindful of what you eat, you will not gain any weight because you can't exercise. Weight loss and even weight gain is all about what you eat. Good nutrition is what takes the weight off and keeps it off. Exercise is what keeps our bodies fit and healthy.
So, listen to your doctor. If your doctor doesn't want you doing any exercise for a couple of weeks, lay off the exercise. If they say it's okay to do some chair workouts or hit the pool, that's okay. Mostly, what your portions and do your best to eat right.
A person can't outrun a bad diet with exercise. Now is the time where you'll really learn how healthy your diet (food intake) really is.
I broke my toe two evening ago. Does anyone have suggestions for exercise that I don't have to be on my feet too much? I know Coach Nicole has a seated workout on the videos and I will probably try that. Anyone know anything else I can do??
