I would try to use whatever fit into my plan and give the rest to a shelter.

That would work. I am thinking about using these foods as needed then gradually adding my own choice of food that I make or buy that's within a calorie range where I can lose weight. I had been looking for a way to try lower calorie foods or figure out what worked for me and this might be trial and error, but helpful in me figuring out what I need, can do, and enjoy for food choices.

If there is a breakfast item or entrée you want to use---then round out the meal with low fat milk or yogurt, a piece of fruit, sautéed veggies, side salad, etc. This will then give you about 100-200 more calories, extra nutrients and fiber---yet keep the overall meal low calorie for weight loss.

I have a large box of nutrisystem foods that I got from my mom after a friend decided the system wasn't for him. I am not planning on doing their diet or following their meal plan, it appears to be really low calories, with protein to help keep you full and rules for what they call smartcarbs or power fuels. With that being said, I am not sure what to do with everything. Do I use them as a quick meal, the snacks as a substitute for one of mine or just what to do? I don't think the foods on there own have enough calories nd nutrition for a meal. The breakfasts seem to be no more than 200 calories r the whole meal and the lunches and dinners don't go over 300 and between 300-350 for the entire dinner meal. They say its scientific but it s more like they seem to keep people at around 1000-1200 calories per day depending upon the combos of foods and foods eaten. I am writing this if anyone was curious about my reason not to try the program. I enjoy cooking anyways and not eating a lot of food pre-cooked or out of a box. I struggle with cooking healthy and being healthy overall for sure, but I wont limit myself to the calorie range that this program has. My mom said it was advertised that I could lose 20 pounds in 5 weeks which sounds a little drastic and dangerous health wise to me. Anyways, thoughts on how to incorporate their food into my eating and life would be great.
