I have never used these shakes and well, blowing my own trumpet here, been very successful on eating real food.

Take some time to educate yourself about basic nutrition.
Take some time to make some meal plans.

You are worth the time and your health is worth the time.

These shake are chemical crap, full of sugar.

If you LIKE a shake for breakfast, learn how to make some decently nutrient packed smoothies, made with real food... just a bit more than what you already do, and enjoy them, but don't make them your weight loss method.

You need to learn about food and eating to maintain any weight loss in the future, why not learn now while losing, instead of having to learn while you gain weight when you stop the junk food shake?

While I don't think shakes are the best way to get your "food" I do drink a GNC Total Lean shake(200 calories) with my breakfast and lunch not so much as to lose weight though....they are easy, convenient, fast, have tons of added vitamins and nutrients and taste great and fill me up. I usually drink a shake combined with fruit and veggies for a couple of my meals per day and I like doing that. I get a lot of vitamins and minerals that way for not too many calories and they have tons of different flavors so I feel like I am drinking a milk shake and they do keep me full for a long time. I know others don't recommend drinking your calories but it works great for me.

I would try to eat real foods vs. using "replacements". It's best to get vitamins and nutrients through real foods, like vegetables. Look up "super foods" for nutrient-dense picks.

If you must use a shake, I'd go with Ensure, and I wouldn't replace more than 1 meal a day like that.

Shana,

You don't need to drink meal replacement in order to lose weight or to ensure that you are getting the proper amount of nutrients your body needs. In eating real food you are allowing your body not just the healthy nutrients but the fiber and phytochemicals from the foods that can be just as beneficial as the vitamins and minerals.

I have been using the Body Bi Vi shakes, I really love them and used them about 3 years ago to lose 87 pounds. I was doing really good with my weight loss until 9 months ago when I had a serious car crash and had to stop working out. I packed on 60 plus pounds. I am back to using the shakes. You do not have to order through anyone you can actually just go on their website and order what you want.

can anyone recommend a good meal replacement shake that i can use to substitute a meal or two during the day? I have been using just protein powder with skim milk, ice chips, half a banana and a tbs of peanut butter but i'm learning that I probably need something that is designed as a sure enough "meal replacement" to ensure I'm getting what I need. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Shana
