I used to run in the morning about an hour after I ate breakfast, but now that my hubby is running with me, I have switched to evenings. Usually we eat dinner after we run. I try to drink plenty of water before we run and during and only eat before hand if I have not had anything at all since lunch and then it is usually a very small snack.

I run in the morning(6am). I usually do not eat anything before running. If I do, then I feel sick as I run and that is not a fun feeling. I usually eat about an hour after running and it is usually a high protein granola bar and some fruit.
I also only eat a little something if my stomach is growling in the morning...like almonds or half a banana. I'll do the same afterwards if I feel like my body needs something right away or else I eat breakfast or dinner (depending when the run is) within 30-60 minutes I guess. My warm up and cool down include stretching and at least 5 minutes of walking....

I only eat before a morning run if I'm stomach growling hungry. Then I'll eat a little something (a tbsp of peanut butter, some almonds, a piece of fruit, etc.)
my favorite pre-run warm up is to do 10 front to back standing leg swings, 10 side to side standing leg swings, and maybe a few walking lunges. Then maybe 5 minutes of brisk walking.
I always, always, always have something in the car that I can eat after my run. I'm usually STARVING, and having something with me keeps me from eating everything in sight when I get home (or worse - being tempted to hit a drive thru)
I run before I eat. Then once I get done I drink some liquid and eat my meal.

I eat a full breakfast and coffee before I run. Most mornings I start running at 6 am. I don't drink water during weekday runs, except in summer.

Like some others, I run first thing in the morning (6am). I don't eat anything before and just drink a glass of water before I go. I have more water, tea, and breakfast when I get back (after I've showered, so probably about 30-45 minutes later).
I warm up with a 5-minute brisk walk and cool down with another brisk walk--anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. I also stretch after my cooldown.
A cup of coffee and then I hit the road. An hour later it is time for breakfast if it was a first thing in the morning run. I am still on Uncle standard protocol.

I run first thing in the morning (like 6 am), and I usually stick to shorter distances, so I don't eat before I run, although if it's a "long run" day I may have a protein shake 30 minutes or so before heading out the door. I definitely can't run after a meal - I've tried it a few times, and I end up feeling sluggish and sick after about a mile. I've also found I need to drink a lot of water before and after I run, but nothing "special" beyond that, you know?

I've started running to help shed some ponds and shape up. I'm not totally new to it having spent 14 years in the army. But i'm interested to find out what you do before and after your run? Do you eat or drink anything special?, do you run before or after a meal? what do you do to warm up and down??
