Thanks that does help--I did some research and what I can tell is the Indo Board, along with many other stability trainers--such as Wobble boards and BOSU trainers, does not meet the cardio criteria of elevating one's heart rate between 60-85% of one's max heart rate in relation to large muscle activation in which the muscles demand a greater consumption of oxygen for a sustained period of at least 20 minutes. Therefore I would consider this type of activity as a bonus. It looks like a great workout for core and quad development but I like I mentioned that is more strength training than cardio.

I'm listening to music and kind of using it as a surf board- going from side to side- I might stand there for 30 seconds or so- but mainly I keep it moving....
Thanks,

Hi Patty,

What are you doing on the balance board?

Hi ,

I forgot to ask how many calories that would burn - using the balance board for 30-40 minutes a day...

Thank you,
Patty

Thank you, Coach Nancy!
I usually use it for about 30-40 minutes - I was kind of hoping there were some cardio benefits :)
I will list it under strength training- it is a lot of fun...

Hi,

It's not a cardio workout, as it does not mean the criteria for cardio--since it is more of a stabilizing workout, I would recommend you track it under strength training.
