I'm interested in participating in a 5:2 group. Are we able to set one up on Spark? I'm currently in a very large FB group, but there are just so many posts it's overwhelming. I've had a couple of attempts on this program, but have fallen off the wagon on my fast day as I wasn't organised. What works best for me is to drink fasting tea until lunch (early at 11.30am), and then have some ratatouille (only 85 cals per serve, will try to find the recipe). Then more mid afternoon with more tea, and a more or less regular dinner.
Then I plan to have a low carb dinner two other nights of the week, as I feel much better the next morning when I do. So that's two fast days, two low carb dinner days, and three days eat normally (but not to excess). It'll be interesting to see what transpires.
i am fasting today since tomorrow we are gong out of town. breakfast was 2 cups of coffee. more cal then i wanted with my cream...but i needed it today with only 4 and a half hours sleep! lunch is a very low cal soup. about 30 cal. 1 cup low sodium broth, 2 celery sticks and a pinch of pepper. i added 1 half cup water to it as well.
you eat regular for 5 days and do a very low cal for 2 days. (500 for women, 600 for men) the two days are not together. my days are mon and thurs. on the other days you eat as healthy as you can. the fasting is supposed to have great benefits. there is a tv spot on it ill try to find.
mon was my modified fast day so i had about 500 cal. banana, plain salad, toast, more salad, two veggie wraps and some broth. water all day except one cup diet coke, unsweet tea, and plain coffee. today was reg day. so i had coffee with cream, 1 toast, 1 sausage, 1 cup grits, salad, 1 egg, minni healthy muffins i made...and not sure about dinner yet. i did not over do it but not having stress of counting cal on my reg days is nice. water all day, 1 diet coke 1 un sweet tea

Have you checked the Sparkteams to see if there are any teams for the 5 5 Diet? The best diet is one that works for you, but you need to make sure you can do it forever, because that is how long you will need to work at your new life!
