Chris, I dont think it is one single exercise... but the como you have put together apparently works for you... we all need to find "our" combo and make it happen. Thanks for sharing!!

My $.02 isn't scientifically verified, but I have noticed that as time passed since doing really strenous cardio, not only did my RMR and VO2 improve but the love handles did disappear (so did the man-breasts). I haven't been able to nail down one particular exercise that would have done the job for me.

As far as the lovehandles, if you're doing straight forward crunches or situps it won't do a much at all. It will work on the front muscles though. You need to throw some twisting in there to hit the love handle area.

Sorry just checking, but isnt it also true if you are only doing crunchies, your not exercising the is it the obliques properly so it doesnt encourage lean muscle growth because you are not stretching and exercising these muscle properly, so straight forward sit ups dont work for the lovehandles.

CJ...yup...right on. You can't choose where to burn fat from. People do sit-up after sit-up after sit-up thinking it will get rid of their gut. Unfortunately it won't. Good cardio exercise and a healthy diet, like you said, is the only way to get the job done.

Well, at least women call them lovehandles. It could be worse, lol.

Cant spot train a site and decrease its fat...but lots of cardio will eventually tap into those reserves. People store fat in different places. Some are big bellys while others are butt and thighs... but ensuring that you are burning more calories than you take in will surely get the handles under control.
All the best
