i am trying to understand the recommendations by spark people on the amount of calories i am to eat daily and the amount of exercise i am to do weekly. thats more calories than i am use to and less exercise than i am use to. i cant see how it will lead to weight loss. can anyone help me?

i hope to learn something new everyday that will inspire me to become healthier and stronger and to inspire others also.
