How about you have a nice piece of fruit or two ? If you find the chips calling your name, then how about putting them away where you can't see them. Out of sight, out of mind. If the kids have already opened them, seal them up as best you can. then walk away. You know you can have chips/dip any time you want them. You've made a conscious decision to have them tomorrow, then save them for tomorrow.
If you eat them now, you won't be satisfied. Go have some fruit. If you don't have any fruit. Have whatever healthy snack you have in the house. Otherwise, how about a nice walk around the neighborhood ? The fresh air will do you some good.
