That's impressive.. my bouts of insomnia are never that productive.. at least in part because if I get up I have two lively dogs wanting to play ball and two complaining cats wanting breakfast, no matter what the hour!

I LOVE the poem! Thanks for posting the link. It's another side of Marge Piercy with which I was unfamiliar.

I'm with Julia--and there's a wonderful poem called "attack of the squash people" by Marge Piercy. I've posted a link, because whether you grow them (and must distribute the extra) or whether you are every year gifted with WAY too many zukes, it's funny. www.poemhunter.com/poem/attack-of-the-squa sh-people/
Every moment is unique, unknown, completely fresh. ~~ Pema Chodron
I had visions of you out creeping around your neighborhood depositing excess zukes on your neighbors' porches :)
I hope you made it through the day without falling asleep at your desk.

So 3 o'clock rolls around and my eyes are open for good. I just couldn't go back to sleep so I got up (trying not to make the floor squeak) and started baking. I made a half-batch of scratch zucchini muffins. By the time my son was up at 5:30 the coffee was made and the muffins were cooling. My grandson is coming tonight and he LOVES them. Now I'm at work and ready for a nap.
