My husband uses his at Lowe's all the time, lots of places don't tell you that, though. It's not just on Veteran's Day, either.

I'd heard of it and even though I personally am not eligible for them, it sure is a great idea!! And, I am more than likely to go to those businesses when I have the need for something

No, for many reasons, including I am not looking for a handout. If I take a discount it is an actual cost to the business and subtracted from overall profits. Should the cost be recovered it will mean higher prices for others.

My husband does. He's a disabled Navy vet. More often than not the retailer is more than happy to offer the discount.

I'm so glad many businesses and restaurants give discounts to military, fire, and police. Its Remembrance/Veteran's Day & I've had many family serve in The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. I appreciate everyone's service to our country especially the families who support the service members!

Wherever I have lived I strongly support small businesses who give discounts of this nature! I know Golden Corral is giving away free meals today from 4pm-9pm to service members~

I wish my restaurant offered military discounts, we get soldiers asking all time if we do. I would be in complete support of that.

Does that count for Canada as well. My husband has been in the military 28 years and never once have I thought to ask for a discount at those stores here in Canada.

If you or your spouse is in the military or retired you should ask if they give military discounts, you'd be suprised who gives them and many are giving free meals tomorrow for veterans as long as you have a valid ID card.
Some of the places that give the discounts:
Banana Republic
BJ's gives you a discount on memberships
Home depot
Apple Store
Foot Action
Foot locker
Hot Topic
Kids foot locker
Ladies foot locker
Movie stop
Old Navy
New York and Company
Zumba fitness 30% off sale items
This is just to name a few!!!!!!!! with Christmas right around the corner it doesn't hurt to ask.
and don't forget restaurants like
99 restaurant
Buffalo wild wings
Boston Market
Dunkin Donuts
Dairy Queen
Lone Star
Papa John's
Johnny Rockets gives 50% to military, fireman and police in uniform
Texas Road house
again just to name a few
