Maybe a catagory of SCRATCH cooking using ingredients. I am a Canadian who lives in the UK and previously in France - As a result of not being able to get canned/tinned mushroom soup, pudding mixes, brownie mixes etc...I've changed my cooking a lot. Learned a lot how to make a roux add, mushrooms and stock and substitute it for mushroom soup. I prefer not to use sugar, egg substititues ect, too. Cooking from scratch also saves me a lot of moola....Or maybe its about taking a recipe that already exists and being able to change a few ingredients rather than having to re-input the recipe.... Thoughts? may not be able to really feel compassion toward others until you are able to feel compassionate toward yourself. Margaret Paul

To each, their own... try searching in advanced search for "sugar"

I have a great dislike of fake sugars, especially if the recipe calls for buying a bag of the stuff.

It would be nice if there were a category that excludes non-caloric sweeteners, non-dairy milk, egg substitute, or tofu-based meat.

In fairness, I wouldn't be offended if people who want to exclude real eggs, milk, and sugar could target those recipes for themselves.
