athletic gear is great to have especially with all of the new water wicking materials...my favorites are under armor and lulu lemon shirts, lulu lemon shorts and sometimes nike or adidas shorts. I rarely ever pay full price for these items though unless I have a gift card. I just find it to be ridiculous to spend $60 on one item when I know I could've bought shoes with that money (I love shoes). I have really good outlets right by me, so outlets are a great place to shop, or I check out sale racks in sports authority, dicks, etc. and even lulu lemon has really great sale racks. Discount places like tjmaxx have a variety but always try them on because they usually fit very differently (which is probably why they are in that store to begin with ) Sneakers I never cost effectively buy because it's extremely important to have proper footwear while working out so I always pay full price for the sneaker is best for my feet (always go to running stores, not sporting good stores)

I've gotten some great stuff second-hand as well Coral. I don't think it is gross at all. Of course as a kid I grew up wearing hand-me-downs

Some people may think it's gross, but I buy really nice Nike, etc. name brand tech clothing at Goodwill. You can't beat $6.99 for a Nike running skirt or tech shirt. It's amazing what some people donate. I figure it's no big deal someone else wore it before me. That's what washing machines are for.
In fact, in my profile pic I'm wearing a red nike running hoodie. I got that at Salvation Army for $3.00. it's in great condition and I've been wearing it every winter for 3 years.

I mainly exercise in leotards but I LOVE Danskin Now. I've bought tops and bottoms a good deal at Wall Mart.

I've gotten stuff from all of the aforementioned places, but I also have some tanks from Old Navy that I LOVE and like a pp said, just because it's "last season's" colors, WHO CARES?! I also used to work at Victoria's Secret and fell in love with their workout pants and sports bras, but unless they're on sale, they can be pricey (where I ultimately loved that discount lol)

I can't stand to wear cotton when working out. Just the way it clings and rubs...ick! I love finding things on the clearance rack, usually because it's "last year's" line or color. Like I care of my workout clothes are SO last season. I will randomly find things at Ross, TJMaxx/Marshals, but I get most of my stuff at Kohls. I have to keep an eye out for sales combined with coupons, but when I find that great bargain, it's like Christmas!

That's so funny I buy all my workout gear at TJ Maxx/Marshalls and Target too Cute new fitness gear is my favorite reward and whenever I hit a goal I go pick out a new piece. I just got an adorable running skort at TJ Maxx for 12 dollars.

I totally agree with Zorbs on this one. Nearly everything I wear for working out (aside from shoes) has come either from Target, Costco, TJ Maxx/Marshalls, or the final sale rack at my local running store. I don't think I've paid more than $20 for a single item in the past 10 years.

Oh hon, cotton is the worst thing you could possibly wear for working out. You can get tech gear in every price range now: Target and Marshalls and Costco are good for bargains, but if you look around, you can also get quality stuff on sale, and lasts forever. I am still wearing a lot of my made in Canada lululemon pieces from 10 years ago.

Hi! I have been working out for a little while now, and I would love to get some different workout clothes. I feel like my t-shirts and cotton shorts get really stinky and sweaty, and I would prefer to have some material that is just more comfortable for basically cardio workout videos and running/riding bike. Has anyone shopped around for this stuff recently and found some good stuff for a good price? I don't go shopping very often, and I'm pretty sure the last time I bought athletic gear was ten years ago.
