There are so many great resources here! I recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker because that is the key element in weight loss for most people. Then, once you're comfortable with tracking your food on a daily basis, start exploring more areas of this site. I still find something new here almost every day. By tracking everything since May 2011 and using the other features here to keep myself focused, I lost 90 pounds and have maintained that loss for over a year now. It takes a little bit of time, but it is sooooo worth it!
And, setting up your own SparkPage and making it public/accessible will allow others to provide you with support, motivation and encouragement!

Hi! I have never ever done something like this before, but I figured that I might as well try a new angle. I've never been consistently thin and have always had trouble with my weight. Right now I'm trying to lose about 30 pounds in a way that allows me to keep it off. I've always been active and consider myself to be athletic, but my eating habits are all out of whack! I honestly don't think that I've ever reached what I consider to be my ideal weight (around 130) in ways that are healthy or sustainable and so my goal is to learn new ways of eating and exercising. I've also never turned to a community of people for support. I've always been a do-things-on-my-own type of person and so I think that turning to others for help may be what makes me the most nervous about this all.
