When I worked third shift I found it easier to work out after work. Another perk of doing it after work is that the gym was really empty.

I work 11pm-7am. I usually workout right after work unless I can put in a quick ab workout, then I do it beforehand. I usually have more energy after my shift.

Right after work, during your breaks, and during your lunch time, ten minutes each.

It's tough, because I can't work out close to bedtime. I work out after work and then relax before bed, usually 7pm. My day starts at 2am.

I work 5-5 - I workout before work - and sometimes if I am wired after a shift, I hit the gym after

You workout when you can. :) It doesn't matter what time you exercise, only that you do. Experiment with different times and see what works best for you. Most people find they do better working out when they first wake up (whenever that may be.) They may find that workouts before bed key them up and make it hard to go to sleep. Others prefer before-bed, because it relaxes them and helps them go to sleep.

It's entirely up to you!

The answer probably varies with the person, depending on your sleep patterns and family situation. Best times are probably either when you first get up, or after you get off work.

I also work third shift 9p-5:30a CST. I workout when I get off work as I usually don't go to bed until noon or one.

I assume this means you work around 11:00 PM until 730 AM or so. How about after work? Many gyms open at 5:00 am or are open 24 hours. Of course, I am basis this on personally liking to exercise after work. Many people schedule in their exercise like appointments at time that works.

Ok everyone... I work third shift and having a hard time figuring out when to exercise. Any suggestions?
