Have anyone use women basketball shoes for aerobic training instead of cross training shoes, if so what brand basketball shoes do you use?
Six weeks ago as I was exercising to Billy Blank Cardio and I injured my right foot. The shoes that I was wearing was New Balance 505-cross training. Somehow my shoe was in one direction and my foot twisted inside the shoe. After three weeks in trying to let the foot heal I went to a Podiatrist which I was diagnose having Posterior Tibial Tendonitis. I was instructed to wear arch support inside my shoes and to wear a foot/ankle brace (McDavid Ultralight Ankle Brace with Figure 8 Strap) to help support the arch and support the ankle. The Podiatrist mentioned for me to do my aerobic exercise in wearing women basketball shoes because it offer more ankle and lateral support because of the mid/high cut of the shoes. Today was my follow up appt. with the Podiatrist which the Podiatrist mentioned the swollen in the tendons have decreased but I will still need to wear the arch support continually and the foot/ankle brace for several months. Bad news that before I went to the podiatrist I bought cross-training Nike Training Flex TR2 shoes which I showed them to the podiatrist and it was mentioned it was to flexible.
