The two pound gain you experienced may be a result of being on those steroids. There are many prescriptions, steroids included, that can cause a person to gain weight. In many cases, it's nothing more than a water weight gain. Ever notice your weight goes up during TOM ? Most women tend to gain weight during their menstrual cycle. Is that a fat gain ? Nope. it's nothing more than a temporary water weight gain that passes in a few days.
In short, that 2 pound gain probably is nothing more than water retention. You're being much too hard on yourself and your body. Can you lose weight ? YES !! But it takes time. this isn't the Biggest Loser. the weight doesn't magically drop off the minute we decide we need to lose. Weight loss is a slow steady process that takes time.
I can assure you that if you eat a healthy diet, watch your portions and get some regular exercise, you will lose weight with time. Also, don't assume you're not changing your body if you don't see the scale move. There really is more too good health than a number that stares at us from between our toes in the morning. Some things to look for... do you have a bit more energy ? Are you sleeping better ? Do your clothes fit better ? can you carry more bags of groceries today than you could a month ago ? Can you walk or run a mile fast today than you could a month ago ?
There are many different ways to gauge success and the scale is only one. What other changes have you notice since you decided you want to lose ?
It's interesting... I looked at your Spark page: "It doesn't take much to make me happy.". At your tag line: Proverbs 12:24 "Work hard and become a leader,...". And at your post itself: "All I can do is keep trying.".
It looks to me as if you have the attitude you need to succeed. Dig deep and find it, reconnect with it and keep going!

Unfortunately when it comes to anything we really want out of life, in order to get the results we want we have to be willing to do the work. This does not mean perfection, mind you. But it does mean keeping yourself account with your nutrition tracking and workouts.
Gosh!!! UP another 2 pounds! I have not sparked like I should. I quit weight watchers. Been on steroids and really feel the effects. All I can do is keep trying. So, today I hit the panic button. I feel so LARGE! Really throwing myself a self made pitty party. Now off to cook for thirty something kids and try not to indulge and eat everything in sight. (Taking my veggie sticks)
