1/9/2012 Today has been a long day, didn't get up and exercise this morning before I left so did the chair exercises over my lunch hour.

Had a tif with someone I work with still not sure what set her off, just have to shrug it off.

Day was really busy first day of the semester so was really crazy.

Stayed well within my calories mostly because I didn't get to eat my lunch. Not sure if I should try to add some? Still need to do my aerobics, but house is on Oh NOOO!!!

I will get it done!!!!

OK It's been a few days, seems like I go caught up blogging. I am finding out that really do like to read those blogs and respond they can be so inspiring.

Its been a great week, I would like to see me up my activity this week, ecspecially since I won't have hiking minutes on my logging this week. Will try to do some walking over the lunch hour, hopefully it won't get icy.

Doing ok with the jumpstart challenge, but would like to do great. Why am I never satisfied with ok, I want to do awesome great etc, but ok comes thru?

Weight loss was acceptable, lost 3 lbs since I had weighed in before Christmas so 1lb a week. Like to see 3-5lbs that some of the other people are seeing in a week. Again not satisfied w/ acceptable want greatness.

Did get a lot of work done this last week. And also worked on the inner me this last week.

12/31/2011 Haven't written anything the last couple of days not sure why? Maybe I didn't want to stay accountable?

Yesterday had a friend come to visit! Took her on a tour of the forest! Didn't get to go as far as I had planned , but still had fun. Went on a hike took pictures of some blue birds.

Did day 3 of the jump start, and on a streak with water.

Today is the first day that I have visited this Journal and I must admit that it was enjoyable.I will attempt to add my thoughts. First a little about me. I am 76, married to a wonderful mother and best friend for nearly 55 years (next June). We raised 5 sons and now have 11 grand kids. No great grand children (that we know of LOL).

I have been on every roller coaster diet ever devised and always had great short term success. I found SP last April and my success, thus far, goes beyond weight loss. Being a Type 2 diabetic I My A1c has dropped from 7.9 to 5.1. My Lantus has been reduced for 56 units to 12 and the quick acting insulin is no longer needed. We moved from the Seattle area to Arizona in in2008. We have one son here but we left 4 in WA and we miss them, especially during the holidays.

Our Christmas was fabulous this year as they all are. Our DIL is a wonderful person and the dinner was incredible. So, of course I ate way too much but because of my SP success, I had no guilt as I knew that I would be back on track immediately. Wilma, you mentioned the "supportive" issue. This is so important but is not something we can insist on.
When you have support as you described, it is truly a blessing.

I have rambled on way too long so thanks for listening and have a Happy New Year.

Hopefully this mail is typed correctly. Our new kitten likes to walk on the keyboard,

12/25/2011 Missed writing yesterday. Started the day at 6:30 am,, My husband has been so supportive this year, first with the weight loss and helping take care of me after the hip surgery
(he lost about 75 lbs this year). He had asked for only two things for Christmas he wanted two pies.a pecan, and a mince meat. So I had to get up early so that I could make the two pies. My Dad loves lemon meringue pie, and then I usually contribute some type of fruit pie to the Christmas dinner. Soooo I had to get up early to get them all done. And with all the pies that I made I only had one small piece of the apple struesel pie not bad.

I'm a procrastinator and needed to hem a pair of Christmas pajamas for my dad at the same time I was making the pies. Had all this all done by noon yesterday. Then went to the folks for a soup supper, bless my mom's heart she even had celery sticks for me.

My two boys and their significant others were there and only one of my granddaughters. Enjoyed everyone.

Today was pretty laid back, my pies were already at my parents so the morning was pretty quiet. This year we decided we were going light on the meal, so we were fixing everything there rather than me make several dishes and adding them to what my mother would have, and then by the time you put a little everything on your plate, just roll yourself out the door. The meal ended up being simple and we weren't misirable at the end of the day. My brother ended up coming and enjoyed a visit with him. So actually had a quiet day, got in a small walk, 6000 + steps. Having a real problem staying out of the kitchen this evening, so had a cup of tea helped a little bit. But the kitchen is still calling me. I will stay out!!!!

12/23/11 Started the day feeling sorry for myself because my daughters won't be here for Christmas. But then decided to just be grateful that they are safe, and healthy along with their families. Work was pretty quiet there was only 2 of us in the building i work in. Finished up some last minute stocking type gifts for grand children. Stayed within calorie range today and walked 10000 plus steps. So feeling good. Merry Christmas and God Bless.

emoticon Merry Christmas and Happy 2012 New Year. emoticon Don't quit. Promise yourself to stay with this every single day for a year. I've not gotten to my goal, but I have NEVER been fatter than the day I joined Sparks four years ago, so to me that is a success. THIS YEAR, I will get to my goal. emoticon

12/22/11 I haven't ever really done a journal before so this is new. Did well with fitness today. Did well w/ calories. Also have stayed fairly on track w/ goals at work. Made a pie when I got home for Christmas dinner. Didn't get much else done, was supposed to wrap some presents guess it will have to wait until tomorrow for that.
