Definitely don't understand that trend. Mine too was a "natual" ombre from working outside in the sun and then transitioning to being indoors more, so it grew out and didn't have the sun to lighten it. I work with a girl who's hair is ombre and it actually looks really pretty. The problem I think is that harsh line that people tend to get where the lighter dye starts. AWESOME.....

I think it's a weird trend and it definitely looks like grown out roots! I'm also too lazy/cheap to keep up with hair color. My hair is dark and any alteration would be super noticeable.

I have dark brown hair; in March, I had it professionally dyed dark auburn. It has since grown out and I have ombre hair which is only because I am too lazy and cheap to have my roots dyed, but yes, this is very trendy right now. I like it because I can continue to be lazy and cheap about it. :) I have never dyed my hair at home, nor would I dye it like that intentionally, but my hair grows really fast and I can't keep up with it....

I just watched a cheesy vampire movie from the 90s, and someone with that particular.. errr... "look" was deliberately dyed that way because she was supposed to be a hooker.

Funny how things change.

Anyway, I'll never dye my hair. People try to get my color out of a bottle. ;) Why would I bother? And when I go gray, I won't be able to match it anyway, so I really don't care.

I've always thought the "ombre" look was silly, but it was/is (?) really, really trendy. However, it sounds like a recipe for disaster to try to do it yourself out of a box! Also, if it has reached the mainstream where anyone who shops at Walmart can get "the look", hopefully the trendsetters will move on and people will have something else to copy. SOON!

ha ha yes, it was a "thing" for awhile there. maybe it still is, idk, i am not one to dye my hair and thus not at the cutting edge of what-colour-to-dye-it fashion.

So, I was totally gonna post a completely different topic...but then when I opened up this window, an ad for Feria Wild Ombre popped up. So, has anyone paid attention to this ad? Is it seriously dye to make it look like you have really really really really grown out roots?
