I just like to read smart people's opinions! I learn a lot, and I get a good laugh from some of the comments occasionally.

Morning, I'm a backslider and have been looking for some teams to join, but like many here, have found so many inactive. I need daily support. So I guess I'll be checking in at the Caf.
I have found that a lot of these posts at the Caf are for one word answers, just to get points. I'm looking for some discussions to hear people's ideas, what's helped them, etc.
I joined one group and in noticing no weight loss discussion, posted that we should try to lose weight by Christmas. The leader informed me that they don't do weight loss challenges there. Sorry, I thought that is what Spark was all about. Losing weight with education and support.
Still looking for some personal inspiration and motivation.

I haven't yet found a team that was active enough that I really wanted to even join. All the ones I've checked out seemed kind of(or really!) dead. :-/

I like posting in my Spark Teams but it gets inactive in some teams from time to time. On the message board it does seem there is more activity on a cross section of topics. It would be nice to earn message board points for the reading different Articles or on The Spark Blog postings because I have plenty to say on those a good deal of the time.
Maybe in the Teams, many have migrated to SparkCoach or some other more interactive experience ... it's entirely possible to have different parts of this community. The ones who maintain message boarding, and the ones who have a more multimedia experience (excluding creating their own multimedia content on blogs/vLogs) ... that is one explanation that comes to mind ... Maybe many others have gotten discouraged or run out of steam ...
I've been back and forth with Spark for 6 years now, maybe longer. I was just thinking today that it seems as though the activity in the Spark Teams has been dying down from what I remember, which is unfortunate as I used to really enjoy the Spark Teams. I remember when I could join challenges monthly and there would be many participants. It was very motivating. On a few of the teams I recently joined, there are hardly any updates and they're mostly from the same one or two people. Also, the most recent challenges are from April or May! Am I just going crazy? I never used to come to the Cafe message boards, but I see myself spending more time on here from now on than on my teams.
Being that this is an online forumlike all such forums online ... if the problem originated in the brick-and-mortar world, and it is a controversial and gray area that you care about and are apt to take personally, better to keep the bulk of it offline and find opportunities (on neutral ground, of course) to fight the good fight where it counts: offline ... your online buddies are for support and not as proxies for the offline issues/drama, etc.
I enjoy the caf more. I do belong to some other teams but they are not active. After a while, I usually leave them.

I have not really found active continuing discussions, debates, etc., on the teams I have joined. I like to discuss topics whether they are related to weight loss, maintenance, good health, or something else entirely. I do find this sometimes at the Cafe, but have not had much luck with it on the teams.
There are more opportunities for interesting discussions in the caf because of the variety of people...great exchange of ideas when not everyone thinks the same way, But Some people do not understand the difference between a debate and a personal attack.

I don't come here that often but I do find that there are people who want help here.

I always come here first. I sometimes drop in on some of the other forums but usually find this the most interesting. (Games forum is useful if I'm in a hurry but want to get my points for 5 posts!!)
I like the team concept but the caf is where I tend to gravitate these days to see a variety of topics and people to talk to.

active teams are great. I have pared back on the number of teams I belong to though.

I have tried and tried and tried to use teams. I tend to forget about them. I go down the list of message boards, and forget about teams. Some are inactive, others are insular, and well, like you, I want to meet a variety of people, not just the people who are "like" me. (As if anyone here's like me. ;))

I like posting in the cafe because there are alot more different topics to post on, but I also work in my teams. You also meet alot of different people on the message boards.
I belong to a few other teams but no where else is better to post open topics than right here in the cafe', why? Because teams that have like-minded people go dead in a hurry (or at least that's been my experience), so that's why I'd rather post open topics here than any where else.
