I would get a fitness pal account. It is like spark people but doesn't limit you and you can have the app on your phone.

About the limit. I admit I never noticed even though I have been on Spark for years. I just don't pay attention to the leader boards. But having seen what some people log as "exercise" including housework, gardening, grocery shopping, slower strolls, baking bread (yes I've seen that), cooking, etc. It would be an uneven competition if someone is only tracking intentional exercise, etc. I personally don't mind if someone wants to track all their activity in their log as it is there tool to use however they want. But the comparison can be meaningless really. I can see the 120 minute limit is probably limiting how inflated the numbers can be as some do likely log 8+ hours of activity a day.
Not that I am one to talk, I have my fitbit linked to Spark and it does give me Spark minutes for each minute I exceed a certain activity level. I don't get the minutes if I am not active, but it does include activity I would not have logged as exercise such as walking on errands, dancing around while cooking (if I move fast enough for long enough), etc.Some of my actual exercise doesn't count, but it still gives me more minutes than I would have if I were manually logging since I only would have logged intentional exercise. I suppose it is also making it a little more fair for people who do not wear all day activity trackers too.
One thing also to remember is that the tracker assumes continuous activity. So while the basketball game might have taken 2 hours, by the time you strip out breaks between halves and other non-court time, there may only be 90 minutes of activity there.

Allright thanks for the information. I didn't realize the minutes were linked to spark points, I just want to keep track for myself so I can make some graphs and things. I think I am just jumping to conclusions too quickly heh.
Of course it still counts for your body if you do 180 minutes on a certain day. You're just not going to get SP points for it. To me, the activity level is what's important, not points. The exercise has long term benefits, not a point.
You have the correct minutes spent on your own tracker. The "Spark America" fitness minutes challenge is limited to 120/day to level the playing field and make the leaderboards accessible.
Some people are not motivated to do anything if you have to enter 9 hours a day just to get recognition (as some people enter their jobs, or lie, etc).

Ohhh ok... so it wasn't that the 60 minutes of strength training didn't count, it was that the 120 minutes of basketball had already maxed it out. Well that doesn't really make sense either, if I want track my actual fitness minutes why wouldn't it record 180 if I did 180? Oh well I'll just spill the extra over onto other lighter days.
