Every time I buy something online, the product or company shows up on spark. At first I thought it was coincidence. After buying some unusual items and it showed up here too, I realized I was being tracked. It doesn't happen on other websites that I use regularly. Just here on spark. It annoys me.
We run a lot of advertisers, so that is likely why you are seeing that.

It's likely not SP. Those companies are usually tracking your browsing data so as to better target you with the appropriate ads. It's why a thread about vegetables will often have a Green Giant ad attached.
Some companies will track their users to have more data on how people use their site.

Heather Writer, mother, wife, and breadwinner. I love to run, but running doesn't love me, so I'm switching to my low-impact bike.
I recently installed a program that blocks me from being "tracked" every time I use the web. Since the program is new, I have been curious to see WHO has been tracking me. According to the program, SP had NINE companies tracking me. Now I understand that SP uses advertising to keep the site free but does SP REALLY need to track me?
