I definitely agree with other posters....water weight....did you know you can retain upto 10 lbs in a day of water.....that's why we drink water to flush that out and to keep the sodium intake below 1800 mg.

As another person mentioned, what you're experiencing is nothing more than a temporary water weight fluctuation. Ever notice your weight goes up during TOM ? Most women tend to "gain" weight during their menstrual cycle. Is that a fat gain ? Nope. it's nothing more than a temporary water weight gain that passes in a few days.
I can easily gain or lose as much as 3-4 pounds in a day because of a shift in my water weight.
Also, not to get TMI, but did you weigh yourself after a bowel movement ? Your body's waste products have weight. So, if you don't do a poop in the morning, the physical weight of all the food you ate the day before is still in your body. The food you eat has weight. The water you drink has weight and they can all cause the scale to go up. And that's perfectly normal.
Try it some time. Weigh yourself before and after you go to the bathroom. Did you lose weight ? YES ! Did you lose fat ? NO.
You're going to see many ups and downs of this kind on the scale as you lose. Remember, there is more to good health then a number that stares at us from between our toes in the morning.

It could also be muscle weight. Track your measurements as well as the scale. If your clothes are fitting better, you could still be losing.

sodium could be the culprit - do you track it? Other than that you need to know the scale can fluctuate 5-7 pounds at any given time - not fair is it?

Water weight gain (retention) from possibly eating a salty food (?) Also, I've learned that some people are eating "reactive foods" that they shouldn't eat because their bodies will swell as in an allergic reaction to them.
I was in a plateu for about 1 mont then last week i finally got out of it at my lowest weight then 2 days later my weight went up again :( And it seems I gained. I keep my diet and work out. I don't see why.
