I love the smell, taste and warmth of coffee in the morning. I usually have two mugs, black, and that is it for the day. If I am visiting someone and they offer me coffee I would usually say yes and enjoy it because there would be a little something to go with it.
It's funny, I've always loved the smell of coffee, but hated the taste. Then a few years ago I started liking it a little bit. Now I LOVE it! I drink at least two cups a day, sometimes WAY more. Since I had WLS I can no longer drink anything carbonated, so coffee has become the only thing I drink besides water. I do occasionally drink crystal light or tea, but that is not even once a week. I've never liked tea either, but am trying to give it a chance since I gave coffee a chance and now like it.
I've been a coffee drinker and tea drinker forever. I enjoy both equally but I have to say that for me coffee is the winner in the mornings. I like the caffeine and taste - really helps get me going! viva coffee!
never required a taste for coffee. But I like the smell of it.. I'm a tea drinker.

Love coffee. I have it throughout the day....especially in the wintertime. In the summer I usually limit it to the morning. It helps me feel full. That way I can get over the snacking habit.

I'm not a coffee drinker and never have been even though my parents drank it. I don't drink hot tea often either. I like the smell of coffee but still don't feel like drinking it.

I love the taste... My husband always finds neat flavors (like Creme Brulee or French Toast or Pumpkin Spice) for me to try! I also like the way that the warm mug feels in my hands on a cold morning such as today. I saw an ENT doctor about a year ago who asked me to give up coffee (d/t possible reflux) and I was devastated. 4 months later, a second opinion having been recommended by my PCP, another ENT told be that I was suffering from silent reflux at night and my morning coffee had absolutely nothing to do with the problem (i.e. instead taking Zegerid in the evening would do the trick!). Needless to say, I left the appointment and headed straight for Dunkin' Donuts! That was the most appreciated cup of coffee I ever drank! lol.

Having read your replies I don't feel so bad about drinking coffee. I was thinking that I must be to only one who really loved it.
Calorie wise back coffee is better than adding milk or cream but if you make it part of your calorie intake it doesn't matter.
I also drink it because I love it - I like it strong, dark, and black although occasionally for a sweet treat I will add some coconut or almond milk and a bit of xylitol. I only drink organic because coffee and tea are two of the most heavily sprayed crops in the world.
Coffee is a good natural way to get the caffeine I need to get started and boost my metabolism. Its other health benefits are good. I don't like the taste as much as some but I like the taste better than soda or other things.
I prick up my ears every time there's news of the benefits of drinking coffee. The latest news was for men who drink it. I think it was about lowering blood sugar - a certain percentage lower, that increases with the amount drunk. It applied to men only.
Before that, there was news about coffee helping to prevent prostrate cancer. These studies are good news for coffee lovers, whom I feel sure outnumber coffee haters.
Haters is not the accurate term - I imagine many gave up coffee for health reasons, and some of those reasons are not valid.

Coffee is my kick-start to the day...since I am always tired in the mornings. I add sugar & flavored creamer...LOVE IT! :)
Mm... I need coffee to get my day started (and sometimes to get through the day). It gets a bad rap because of all the calorie-laden, sugary drinks that are being offered these days at coffee shops like Starbucks. Personally, I like to add some sweetened condensed milk and skim milk to mine.

Love the smell. I started out small but once my twins were born, it helped me get a much needed boost in the morning. Now I have it every morning. On the weekends, my husband and I go through a pot in the mornings. I love having a hot cup of coffee and watching the news or reading the paper or planning our day or cuddling with the girls watching cartoons.
It is essential for me now in the mornings.

When I was little, all of my uncles would be at my grandma's house before work and they all drank coffee and it was the "grown up" thing to do and so cool when they'd give me a bit of coffee and a bunch of cream and now it reminds me of all those I've lost when I drink it.

I love coffee. I try to keep myself to two cups a day, well two mugs a day which is more like four cups technically I guess.
What's the fuss? The caffeine can interfere with good sleep. More than two cups can act as a diuretic, so you need more water. Too much caffeine can make folks irritable.
If you don't have any of those issues, go for it. There are certainly other "issues" that have been spotted or mentioned in studies, but I don't recall them. Or I repressed them. I say drink up.
I have been a coffee lover for 30 years. When I was between PPI's (drug for acid reflux), I really could not drink it. I wanted a hot drink in the morning, and had decaf green tea with a teaspoon of honey. I hated it, but was trying to learn to like it.
After a few weeks of this, I was prescribed a new PPI. I drink less coffee now, and mostly decaf, but I still have one cup of our favorite caffeinated coffee every morning.
I love my coffee! Been drinking it since I was 16 and started working. We would go through a pot or two a day(between 3 or 4 people),and more during the holiday hours. For me,I sweeten it with stevia and add a bit of non-dairy creamer...which then helps any cravings for sweets for me.Although...when camping...a strong cup of black coffee is great!
I drink coffee to get me going in the morning, although I actually switched to tea this summer when I was have blood pressure problems. My BP is great now, so I may switch back. I love the smell of coffee and I do use non fat creamer and splenda to keep the calories low. I also usually only have one cup per day when I'm drinking it!
I LOVE the taste of coffee! I like it black, with cream or my new favorite with enriched rice milk! I don't drink much milk so it is a great way for me to get my calcium and vitamin D! I drink 3 to 5 cups a day and feel no shame! I LOVE it! :)
