When I am not motivated just reading comments and blogs motivates me. Then when I realize some one sent me a sparks goodie for one reason or another, it makes me tear up and get going. Knowing some one is proud of me and supports me , well it is just the best feeling in the world emoticon .

Specifically, LDRICHEL. I love her blogs. She's so down to earth and frank with her accomplishments and struggles.
The community in general. This is a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. I had never heard of quinoa or Greek yogurt before I started coming to the message boards. Greek yogurt is a constant in our refrigerator now. I bought my first package of quinoa last week. I haven't had a chance to cook it yet, but I have saved 2 (I think) of Chef Meg's quinoa recipes in my recipe box to try soon. Those things didn't happen because one Spark member posted about quinoa or Greek yogurt. It happened because I saw post after post on the message boards about them.

The people who have lost weight, whether it is 20 pounds or over 100 pounds. I can't imagine how hard it must be for people who are obese to get their weight within their normal range and keep it there. Amazing.

Others who inspire me are those who work at least part-time outside the home, care for children, and do the bulk (or all) of the errands, cleaning, meal planning, preparing, and clean-up. Oh, they also change the beds and do laundry, vacumn floors, clean the bathrooms and pay the bills. And on top of this they find time to exercise? Incredible!!!

Gosh, what ISN'T motivating about SP??

I love earning SparkPoints, I love making it a game to stay within the recommended range in all nutritional categories, challenging myself to make that water glass overflow, reading other people's success stories.

Recently, I have become more involved with the community aspect and find it is really encouraging to read comments on my own blog and page and then to find others I can also support in their journey. Makes all the difference in the world!

Spark points and the food tracker. It's been a little game for me to have all of my nutritional trackings (sodium, fiber, protein, fat, etc) in the recommended range. Most days one is above or below (usually sodium above and fiber below) . When I first started several were above the reccomnded so it's motivating to see how my eating habits have changed.

The people here - I am totally impressed by folks who have a goal and are on their way to meet it. Also am inspired by those who have lost a large amount of weight (they must have overcome a lot of personal hurdles to do that!), and those who are in "maintenance mode" - still sparking away - it shows that they are very motivated to keep the good habits going.

My most favorite SP person is Chef Meg. I was not getting enough protein before I started using Chef Meg's recipes. I eat a lot of beans. My daugher and her two kids are also eating more beans. The recipes are amazing. I have never heard of putting so many seasonings with great norther beans. Recipes for black beans--unbelievable. Also, these recipes are very good for my diet in other ways such as low cal and no meat. I never realized spinach can replace meat like mushrooms. I just put the great northern on. Did I mention how many recipes there are using the slow cooker. emoticon

I've been using SP for a couple of years just tracking food and fitness daily. I have more recently been using Sparkpeople for its networking and I find that I enjoy logging in every day, checking in with my sparkfriends, reading their blogs and helping them out if they need it! I've found some of my friends by going to Community - Spark Pages - Motivators. I never knew there were so many fun, goal-oriented, and motivating people on here!!

There is a lay in here called, "BIGPAWSUP" who checks in regularly, always has a kind comment to say and seems just a really cool gal. She lives far from where I am or I would bug her to go walkng! I envy her and how she has the time to respond to so many members' ideas, obstacles and triumphs. She's a good one. You should give her an award of some unique sort! :D

I'm working on motivating myself actually, finding what they're calling 'intrinsic motivation.'

It helps that I can blog and posts my status and then look back and read what I've written at a later date. and look at where I was and where I am now.

One of the things I like is that there are a lot of people on here who have a healthy attitude and mindset - people setting realistic goals with realistic ways of reaching them. SP definitely sets the tone by endorsing healthy behaviors and encouraging people not to do fad diets or unhealthy things. Plus, I love that everyone is so kind, positive and supportive towards each other.

I can't recommend anyone in particular to follow, but checking out the profiles on the success stories page is a good start.

The At Goal & Maintaining Team is filled with people who are inspiring!! Our leader, 4AHEALTHYBMI, is exceptional!! I have a few personal SparkFriends who just do it for me. Also, we have a local team that gets together and I'm so glad to have support in person, too.

I understand, though. WALKINGANNIE was one of my greatest SparkFriends and she has left us. I also had a great SparkFriend (Monty) who let us know he was terminal before he disappeared. It is sad to lose SparkFriends. Sometimes they mean so much to us and in some ways we know them so well and in other ways, not at all.

I haven't been on Sparkpeople for a long time and most of my Sparkfriends haven't updated in months/years or have left Sparkpeople all together (Urbanmommy, Smurfette0725 sob!) :(

So i am looking for new Spark friends to follow that are motivating and update quite regularly... so i thought i would ask the experts... you!
