when I was a kid in Sunday school, we used to pick up one food to give up for Lent, then each week, the money that we would have spent on that food we brought in and put it in a jar. At the end of Lent, we took the money we had collected and donated it to the local food bank.

I always gave up chocolate :)

Cheese, I was successful in doing this 2 years ago. Hopefully I can do it again. Oh and trying to track everyday.

Our entire family made the pledge to cut out sweets, and my husband and I are not drinking alcohol during Lent

I'm not giving up food but, I've set a goal to cook at home for 40 days during Lent. No going to restaurants or places like Subway.
