I have a super busy I set my alarm to go off at 5:30 a.m. so I can get my cardio in before my day starts. I also take a core class 2 nights a week at 6:30. It is about fitting it in where you can. I do believe that sleep is important to weight loss so I go to bed early around 9 so I can be ready to start my next day.

I would schedule your life. I also use Google Calendar. When you schedule your workout, factor in the time it takes to drive to the gym and to shower after you are finished. So a 45 minute workout might actually take 90 minutes when you add drive and shower time.

I need my sleep or I will not be alert at work and will get sick. But that is different for everyone. So you have to decide if you can get less sleep.

I find that after I schedule my time, that there are some things I do that waste time that I can remove from my life. Perhaps you can find some of those time wasters too.

I don't work that much, but I do have 3 part time jobs and a 3 year old. And a husband.

The thing that goes out the door is sleep. I sleep 5 hours on a REALLY good night, most nights it's 3 or 4. People will go all, "but sleep is so important!" No one I know who has a family and jobs, exercises a lot, sleeps 8 hours a night. it simply isn't possible. Sleeping isn't as important as getting time to eat healthy, work, and is important to a degree, but it is the first thing to go in my world.

Yikes, that's a busy schedule. When I'm trying to figure out where to fit everything in my life, I use google calendar and actually schedule everything out so that way I have a visual of everything. Then I do my best to stick to that schedule. When you put in your work, school, and band schedules you might see blocks of time that you didn't realize you had.

Since you're looking for more strength training routines, I will mention that my full body strength training routine only takes 45 minutes on average and 30 minutes if the equipment I need is not occupied. There are strength training routines that are body weight only and don't need equipment at all (see "You are your own gym" by Mark Lauren).

I workout first thing in the morning before work so that means I go to bed pretty early and don't really go out outside of my weekly kickball games and fencing practice. But it also keeps me from spending money on eating out so it balances out in the long run I think.

I've been looking for a way to work out and eat healthy for a while and I've tried a lot of different things. But I feel like I'm just back at square one again. I just need some advice on exactly how to run my work out routine (and some nutritional advice). Everytime I seem to start my plan, life seems to bump into the way and get me off track. I just need more opinions to help me figure out what's best--I'm at a loss. Plus, my friends and family aren't much help due to my size so it's hard to find someone unbiased to talk to.

Okay, so I weigh about 100 lbs and I'm only 5 feet tall. Because I'm so small, everyone I talk to in person about working out just laughs it off and asks why I try. Obviously, I want to be healthy and strong. I am NOT wanting to lose weight. I'd rather gain muscle than lose fat at this point. This website gives me the allotted calories I should be in taking, which is the easy part and not what I'm struggling with. Its my schedule. I guess I'm looking for pointers on how to work through everything I do. Basically I go to work (30-40 hours a week) and school full time (15 hours/week). Aside from that, I am in a band that practices about 10 hours a week and we have a weekly gig at the least. Oh. And I have a boyfriend. And that is just about everything I do permanently. I do have other stuff during the day which I do (obviously), but those are my main commitments.
I guess my main question is how do I do it? How do I work out around all of those things. I mean, by the time I get home from my university I am so tired I can barely look at my homework.

How do you guys do it? Do you just fit it in whenever wherever? What sacrifices do you make like sleep or a social life?

Before I started school in August I would work out at least 4 times a week on my days off and after work but now I'm getting so stressed out from not being able to fit it in that its driving me crazy!
