I don't look at this as a diet but a lifestyle change and all the changes I have made for me have made me successful, gave up smoking, diet sodas, eat as clean as possible. I track my foods and workouts on sparkpeople and for me that is a big success.
Everyone rides the rollercoaster in this theme park but when you focus on what you think you're giving up...or when you keep thinking "this is tough, this is tough"....then you don't give yourself a chance to change your paradigm. When you stop focusing on the pain of change, you allow yourself to enjoy it.
This is a quest for what we can become...physically, healthwise, and lifestyle wise. It's a change in mental attitude, and commitment. And the horizon keeps moving as you develop...it just means that there's always something you can do to improve on...or maintain.
I am "successfully" losing some weight - but i'm still well over 200# with a future filled with some-good-days and some-bad-days awaiting me. Am I successful because I've lost some? Or not, because my journey is still too new to be able to evaluate my success?
If you open a thread entitled "how do you stay positive" you would expect to see positive answers.
There are plenty of people posting their struggles and challenges every day - they just tend to post in the Panic/Help section or the Staying Motivated section rather than the cafe.
