The scale noticed the first week. I noticed after 25 lbs. Friends haven't noticed enough to comment after 50 lbs. and a drop of 5 pant sizes. The are probably quiet because I lost 80 and regained 60 3 years ago.

I noticed after two weeks that my belly was getting smaller. I really noticed when everything else was getting smaller probably 15-20 pounds lost, which was around 7 weeks in.

I lost 6 lbs my first week and my jeans fit better (not so tight), but looking in the mirror I couldn't see any difference.

I had to have my rings re-sized to a smaller size, and also the fit of my clothes was much better.
I have noticed that my double chin is disappearing and my rings are not tight any longer. One of my neighbors asked me this week if I had lost weight. I'm glad she noticed!

I noticed it in about a day or two, because I felt lighter and less bloat-y almost immediately any time that I knew I took in less calories for a day or so, than what I burned. I believe I noticed my clothes fit better with every pound or two lost.
But in spite of "noticing" these differences, I rely on a scale and measurements/the way clothes fit as the real measurement tools which are more objective, not allowing me to kid myself about what I may think I have "noticed."
I haven't yet. I keep thinking I might see a difference in the mirror around my hips, maybe this shirt is pulling less around the buttons, these pants might feel a little loose. A few people have mentioned to me that they see it. I don't completely believe them - they just want to be kind, to be encouraging - but I take it with gratefulness. Thanks for seeing me at all, dear acquaintance!

First was the scale but it was the best feeling to look in the mirror during exercise classes and know that I am looking so much more fit (shrinking while sweating! lol)

It takes about ten pounds to really make a difference for me. Twenty before I start to feel excited.
I don't except for the scale and my husband and friend saying they can tell. I've lost 23 pounds and I don't see any changes . I've never worn my clothes tight so I really can't tell there but that's okay. I know this is a lifestyle change and as long as I watch what I eat and exercise, it's all good. It took me a while to gain this weight and will take a while to get it off. I KNOW I can do it!

It took about 15 pounds before I started to get remarks from people.
I work for a local company with two retail stores. One of the stores is tiny and cramped. Every square inch is jam packed with product. On the door to the back room is a wire rack book shelf (I'm serious when I say "every square inch"). It's always difficult for me moving around that store because I'm so big. The worst is that back door, because there are oversized books on that shelf that stick out. I have to remove some of the books to get through that door.
That is, until today. Today I got through without moving anything. Yeah it was a tight fit, but I did it. And it felt great.
Do worry about it. You'll get there. Stay motivated. Stay the course. You'll get there.

It depends. When I was bigger, it took 10-20 lbs to make a difference, but in the last 10-12lbs, I went from a size 8 to 4 (I was also weight training quite a bit).
With only 20lbs to lose, your weekly weight losses will be smaller, generally, but it will take less loss to notice a difference. I wouldn't worry too much. Just focus on becoming healthier (better food choices, less food, more sleep, stress reduction) and fitter (exercise) and the rest will take care of itself.
