I will celebrate my hard work, and enjoy it only for what it is, without expecting anything else (the fantasy of being thin is one full of danger, I don't want to set myself up for expectations that will never be met).

When I reach my first goal, which is to get down to 199 lbs, I will walk into my son's school events and not feel like I am the fattest, ugliest parent there and hopefully, I will feel like he does not have to be embarrassed of me. He has never made me feel that way, not even a little bit, but I guess I feel embarrassed for him because I am embarrassed of myself. I don't think my son is that shallow- to feel that way about me. I will also be more comfortable around my husband's family members who are all of normal weight.
My fiance will think I'm too thin. He likes a woman with some meat on her bones. I want to be thin with muscle. This difference of opinion makes it difficult to really work on weight loss. Do I want to be thin or do I want him to find me sexually appealing?

I'm thinking about providing myself with some incentives for smaller goals along the way. For instance, when I get out of the 130s, I will earn XYZ. When I can reach _______ fitness milestone, I will earn ABC. When I hit my goal weight, I will earn _____. You get the idea... Little (non-food) "prizes" for accomplishing mini milestones and goals. I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for in this post, but this is how I thought about it! Examples of non-food prizes could include: a manicure and/or pedicure, movies with girlfriends, a massage, shopping trip to buy clothes that (now) fit, lingerie shopping (to emphasize my new shape), permission to try that new (and maybe expensive) fitness class, etc.

When I reach my goal...I will be happy to get rid of my several, what I call "squeezer suits". For years now, I have been wearing these all in one bra, panty, hold it all in, undergarments. My young Grandaughter looks at me in wonder as I painstakingly "squeeze" into it. Getting closer to not having to wear it much longer. Not to mention...they're hot in the Summer. And Summer is getting closer!
