You can rehydrate them by soaking them in water (some people will boil them). Then, you can use them the same way as you'd use regular apples (applesauce, stewed apples, for use in recipes, etc.). I wouldn't normally suggest a pie here on Spark People, but Christmas is coming up and I hear that rehydrated apples make good apple pies.

Thank you! Sheryl those are great ideas. I could do an overnight oatmeal with the apples or a breakfast .quinoa.
I also like the idea of a muffin.
If there are any left over I'll let the dog try some. I have one dog (and a cat) who will eat most anything.
Thanks again for the ideas!

Sheryl had pretty much all the ideas I could think of unless you wanted to make muffins/bread...

chop them up and use them in oatmeal with raisins or walnuts?
use them in a salad?... Alsatian Chicken Salad; grille chicken breast, field greens, sauteed apples
use them in a sauce for pork chops?

A friend brought me some dried apples as a thank you. They are soft, not chips. I guess you could snack on them but I'm not a fan of dried fruit.

Any ideas?
