Ewwww! I wrote this on another thread, but I had a professor that lost 100+ lbs. She kept 5lbs of ground beef in her freezer and every 5lbs she lost she would take it out to look at it and weigh it in her hands. Apparently regular ground beef has a similar density to human fat. Have fun with that next time you're in the meat section of the grocery store!

Here's a really fun way to visualize your own weight loss:

Go to the store and buy the needed number of cans of Crisco or pounds of butter;
take it home ...carry it around for part of the day... and then donate it to a Food Bank!

Many years ago I was involved in an informal group working on losing our weight. We did this and donated everything to a Women's shelter! (prearranged with their cook....) It was incredible to see the pile of food we gave them....
