I listened to 3 episodes of FitSmart yesterday and today. I really liked it! It's 2 guys -- a fomerly-overweight guy and his trainer (who is now his friend). Reminded me of the guy version of the SP Radio ladies (at least when they are talking to each other). They just talk the entire time, about 30 minutes. In the episodes I listened to, I thought they had interesting things to say about long-term weight loss and good insights into being fit and healthy for life.
What I didn't like is how they don't introduce themselves, so I had to figure out who's who and what they do. They have similar voices so I haven't fully figured out which is which unless they talk about "clients" (the trainer-dude) or being overweight (the formerly-overweight guy).
Since I only got one recommendation, I decided to browse iTunes and download a few podcasts that sounded interesting.
* Beautiful Body Bistro -- it sounded professional at the start but the host is a 20something (not that there's anything wrong with that) who interrupted her guest (who was her good friend). I turned it off after 14 minutes.
*The Nerdy Gym Rat -- I got through about 7 minutes of this.
Downloaded but haven't tried yet (will update this thread when I do) * Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy * Fit2Fat HQ Podcast * FitSmart -- I downloaded 3 episodes, so I must've liked the titles a lot! * Smarter Science of Slim with Jonathan Bailor and Carrie Brown * The Greatist Podcast (I follow Greatist on Twitter)
I have a long-ish (50 mins) commute on the train and I like to keep busy during that time. Sometimes I read, sometimes I listen to music, and sometimes I listen to podcasts. My favorite podcasts are not fitness-related: I like This American Life, Marketplace Money and WTF with Marc Maron.
I listened to one episode of the SparkPeople podcast and didn't love the hosts -- I found them lacking in sincerity. I tried the Jillian Michaels podcast but thought it needed to be edited to cut out the narcissistic parts and focus better on the motivation/health stuff.
What fitness-related podcasts do you listen to? Thanks in advance for your help!
