If you want one that can track your mileage for running and cycling then you want a GPS watch with a heart rate monitor. I'd recommend getting a Garmin.

I personally like the Polar brand of HRM as they were the first company to bring the portable HRM to the mass market over 30 years ago and they continue to offer a superb product in my opinion. Depending on how much feedback you want will determine the price you pay.
One thing I like regarding the Polar brand is they tend to not have the interference issues with other HRM and electronic equipment which can throw off your data.
Hi everyone! I'm looking to buy a heart rate monitor to accurately tell me how many calories I'm burning. I've been researching the different types but just ended up confusing myself further! I found some that are "best for running" and different ones that are "best for cycling" etc... I want one that can track my calories running, cycling, swimming AND cross-training. Is there an all-purpose one? I also want a model where I can input my weight, age, height etc... Anyone have any recommendations or can clear up my confusion?? Thanks!
