It has been found that Charred ( burnt) meat can trigger cancerous cells..Charred is when its black and almost unedible...if meat is well done, I doubt that poses a prob..
I was just told that an expert said that cancer cells in our bodies are activated by alcohol, smoking, and charred meat--whether it is charred on a grill or in a pan. I had heard that meat cooked well-done so that it was charred on a grill was not good, but I had never heard that pan-charred meat is also bad.
I asked what pan-charred meat looked like and the answer (2nd hand, not the expert speaking) was that when you sear meat, it is charred. Has anybody heard this? Is seared meat charred or does charred mean burned, or almost-burned?
