I have learned that one "bad" meal doesn't make you gain weight just as one "good" meal doesn't make you lose weight. Consistency is the key.

I learned to put me on the list of things to take care of. I learned that I need to catch a weight gain of two pounds before it turns into 4 pounds and so on. I learned that I really do like lifting weights.

That enough sleep is a major part of getting healthy.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

I have learned to track, track, track!!! I track everything. The good, the bad and the ugly. It is the only way I know how to keep from gaining back those pounds. 7 months+ in maintenance and I still track but it means that I can enjoy meals out without guilt, I can go over my daily calorie allowance occasionally because I know that I can regain those calories over the next few days.

That's a good point. Making healthy choices 1 at a time, over and over again! Good to remember.

I can't keep anything not healthy in the house
I can't eat just one bite of something I like
Make good choices, one at a time

Hi everyone,
I lost a hundred pounds then put 30 back on! How frustrating ..all of that hard work then I started slip sliding back into unhealthy habits.

I've figured out a few things though...I have to weigh everyday. If I don't, I can ignore what's happening with the slow, insidious weight gain.

I have to measure everything I eat. I have "fat" eyes that tell me to eat everything in front of me cuz thats a serving ...right?

I have to exercise 6 days a week...and work up a good sweat..or I will gain weight.

I have to keep only good food in the house. If it's junk food and in the house I will eat it. ALL OF IT!

I can eat 1 portion of anything I want as long as I have the calories for it.
I've learned I would rather have dinner then 4 Oreos.

I can cook healthy, tasty meals regardless of whether anyone else will eat them. If they don't like it, they can fix their own meal.

What have you figured out that you have to do in order to be successful?
